I didn't know I NEEDED this film til I saw it; I walked in to the theatre BURDENED - but I walked out with a far healthier, more effective perspective on my burdens. I really am burdened, you see: heavy-duty problems physically, financially, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, you name it. Maybe 1/2 a decade ago I made the first move to transform my entire life into something I LIVED instead of something I just survived from day to day, and ever since, everywhere I turn is an almost insurmountable obstacle. And I'm tired, very tired. In fact I'm sitting right now in a brace with a walker beside me, hurrying myself to finish before the shakes get too bad when my pain meds kick in. I walked in to the theatre to see 6 Below feeling guilty for taking a break from my problems. I walked out inspired, thinking in a new way and asking myself new questions: "So I have a physical problem? At least surgery can help it and I don't have to be amputated!! So I'm being bullied at work? At least I'm not completely isolated in a hostile wilderness for 8 days and can go home to my pets! So I'm not happy with who I am and want to change? At least I've already had and survived my wake-up call!" Seriously, this film had a HUGE impact on me for a very SIMPLE reason: If Eric Le Marque can survive that, then I can survive this. It's the huge difference between whining and self-pity vs smiling and contentment. That simple. Thanks for pulling my head out of my a**. PS the snowboarding shots were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
